Thank you to everybody who is replying! I'm on day #3 of my liquid diet & I'll be honest I've stuck to it 99%. I'm allowed unlimited water, crystal light, decaf coffee/tea, sugar free jello, sugar free popsicles, beef broth & chicken broth, then 4 Boost Glucose Control shakes daily. So I cheated a little bit, when boiling my beef broth I put a ½ tsp of tiny pasta alphabet letters in with it. Anybody else have a weak moment? I'm feeling like I've just committed the ultimate sin!!!

I had ten days of liquids pre-op.  The first few days sucked, but then it got better.

Your little cheat probably won't harm anything this early in the diet but definitely don't cheat closer to your surgery time. This diet is to shrink your liver. My surgeon told me if I followed correctly then he could be in and out of my surgery in 30 mins. He had one lady cheat right before and it took him 2 hours. Keep your eye on the prize! 2 weeks is a small sacrifice compared to what your outcome will be :)

So true. Mine was in and done in and out of the OR in 45 minutes flat, which means much less time under anesthesia and that's way easier on your system.

I am on my second day of my pre op diet. My surgeon requires two full weeks of nothing but liquids-protein shakes, water, soup. Then 2 full days of clear liquids only so water and broth. Blech. LOL

Congrats on your weight loss and wishing you a successful surgery!

My surgeon is one of the ones who looks at the amount you've lost before the surgery and determines if you need the diet.  I was told I won't need one.  I'll probibly do a liquid/lean meal diet option just to be on the safe side.  I'm still in the approval phase though so things may change.

HI, THAT IS AWESOME THAT YOU LOST 113 POUNDS. THATS WHAT I WANT TO DO. TRY AND LOSE WEIGHT ON MY OWN. I JUST STARTED WORKING OUT. AN I HAVE A LONG WAY TO GO. BUT IF I LOSE 113 POUNDS ON MY OWN I AM NOT GETTING THE SURGERY BECAUSE THAT MEANS I CAN DO IT ON MY OWN. BUT THAT IS FREAKING AWESOME TO HAVE DONE THAT. NOT ALOT OF PEOPLE CAN DO WHAT YOU HAVE ALREADY DONE. AND CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR NEW JOURNEY.
