Most imitation foods are crappy. The label on a veggie burger looks like the back of a pesticide bottle. Blech.

Thank god no one has tried to peddle imitation ribeye.

I have been wanting to try tilapia, but I don't like many kinds of fish, is it mild?  I love haddock and cod but tilapia is really quite cheap at times so I was wondering.

It is mild. But be warned, they are bottom feeders meaning that they eat all of the yuck as a food source. I don't eat it for this reason. Blech!

tilapia is quite mild.  i suspect a lot of it is farm raised. I get tilapia loins individually frozen from costco. i should read the package about where it comes from.  diane s

Yup, tilapia is pretty mild, I'd say it's about on par with cod. It makes for really good fishsticks!

OMG, that reminds me of the old days of dieting when I thought eating imitation crab, over pasta with "I can't believe it's not butter" was a great diet choice.
