ok, so i am noticing that with the sleeve i feel like i am constantly dehydrated. Even on days when I've had 100+ oz of water, if i wait too long before starting my next big cup, my mouth starts getting dry. My mouth was never dry before the surgery now... its constant. i've tried a couple of those dry mouth lozenges and sprays and nothing really seems to help. anyone else noticing this?

I had RNY, but for the first year or two, I had to drink all day long. I even had to sleep with a glass of water next to my bed because I needed to sip all night because my mouth was so dry. Things slowly got better and I do not feel like I constantly have to have water now.

Yes, I notice the same thing.  I cant be without something to drink for more than a few minutes or my mouth gets very dry.

I need more salt and minerals... pickles are great for that.

Carbs help us hold the water in our body. So is salt.  Most of us eat low carb food plus the qty is not much - plus most of the food is really low salt. Even 8 years post op - when I record what and how much I eat - I almost always came short on slats and minerals...we need salt - especially in summer... now I try to add salt my my food...i.e. my homemade ice cream pops...

I'm usually over 200 ounces per day. If I only get 120 or so, I feel like crap.

64 ounces is a general guideline. It just might be you need a lot more than you've been getting.

Yesterday hit 144. No way I could survive on 64oz. Was drinking more than that before the surgery. I could have kept going yesterday but I had to sleep and didnt want to disturb my sleep. Got less than 5 hours last night cause I had to pee and then couldn't get back to sleep. I just find it to be a difficult struggle to get enough water and still get in enough food to keep my muscle and use up my stored fat.  This struggle is real, yo.

We need additional water to burn fat, and to process the higher percentage of protein we should be eating. So keep drinking!
