Thank you, love! I'm going to need to get some chewable Pepcid or something.

Most of the time you get steroids during surgery to decrease inflammation.  This can cause flushing.  Can last a while but should go away.

Congratulations!! The day after surgery is definitely the worst (just had my sleeve last week) but it gets easier and easier from there. I had the same concern about growling in my stomach thinking it was hunger pains but like everyone recommended I took an antacid and sipped a lot of water and broth and I felt much better. ditto on the flushed face. I read somewhere it can also be a sign of dehydration so I just slipped away and about a day or two later the flushing went away.

I'm so happy for you. You're over the worst part of it. As the others told me, welcome to the losers bench.

I'm definitely going to have to get an antacid! I've been sipping on water and Powerade Zero and eating Jello all day. I think I'm pretty well hydrated so hope this hot face goes away quickly!

Thank you, sweetie!!!

Congratulations!

I agree with others, most likely a side effect of the anesthesia ... if it continues tho, call your doctor.

!st couple of days after surgery are difficult but I promise it gets better soon.

I was sleeved on 7/11 and like you, I got REALLY hot and my face was flushed and puffy.

My doc said it was most likely due to the anesthesia. I also got heart palpitations that were a result of the anesthesia as well.

The flushing and overheating was gone by day 3 or 4 and the palpitations are slowly winding down.

I had my VSG 3 months ago.  My stomach still makes lots of noise when I am digesting.  Sometimes, other people can even hear it - I find it somewhat amusing!  I think it takes a month or so to heal before you can accurately judge hunger.  I believe some of those nerves are cut during the surgery and it takes 4-6 weeks to heal.

Congrats on the surgery and good luck on your journey!
