Zinc to stop/prevent hair loss?
Any success stories? I've been getting my hair foiled blond for more years that I care to say - so, I dont know if this is in my head or what, but I'm about 5 weeks out & I have noticed a LOT of breakage- and more hair in the brush. My surgeon mentioned zinc to help- I googled it, and it does say good things about zinc and the correlation to hair loss prevention- but it also says dont take more than 3 weeks?
Anyone try zinc and notice improvements? I was thinking maybe take 2, or 3x a week?

This is telogen effluvium, and supplements won't stop it. Most patients experience it.

The hair loss will happen - no stopping it, likely only you and your stylist will notice it. It's a result of anesthesia and the body's reaction to much less food, surgical recovery, etc. Mine lasted for about 3-4 months and then regrowth started and everything went back to normal. I did get a shorter layered pixie cut and that helped me to deal with it better.

I've heard that it is the natural process and you only lose up to 15%. I'm only a few weeks post op but I've been taking 10000 mcg biotin and washing my hair with Nioxin that helps with this type of thinning. I won't know if it works until much later, but I'm staying positive because I already feel a difference in my hair. fingers crossed
