I was fortunate enough to have my surgery before all of the pre-op waiting times. BCBS-FEP approved me within a week of submission. As long as you've done whatever the requirements are, and you meet the criteria (BMI greater that 35 w/2 comorbidities or BMI greater than 40), you should be good. Even if they deny, it will only be because one of the pre-op requirements isn't met or the doc didn't turn something in.
