So I have been on purred for about 2 weeks. Usually I can eat about 1/4 of a cup of food. However recently, I haven't been able to eat very much without becoming nauseous. I was wondering if anyone experienced this or if I should be worried.

Around the 3-4 week point, my shakes started making me nauseous.  I was using the EAS shakes mixed with fat free milk.  I played around with consistency and using water instead of milk before I concluded it was the mix causing the problem.  I even tried other brands (thankfully some come in the sample packets!).  I ended up switching over to bottled Isopure Zero Carb, which is a clear protein drink.  This got to be expensive, so now I use the Atkins Lift drinks- comparable nutrition info, more affordable, and I can find it at Walmart.  Syntrax Nectar also comes highly recommended from other OH users too, I didn't end up trying it because the shipping costs were to high to be worth it for me.  I hope this helps and you find some relief!!

It's important that you measure your food.  The nerves in your stomach have been cut and you won't feel the full sensation for many months.  Over filling your new sleeve can cause the staple line to open and you can become very sick.  Just because you can eat more, does not mean you should.  Your surgeon should have given you a plan with amounts to eat and a slow progression.  Follow that plan to the letter.  You need to give your new stomach time to heal.

Not everyone feels nausea when they eat too much.

You'll probably want to check with your Dr on that one, since you're on the puree stage maybe after surgery you developed an allergy to something in your food?  Some people who were able to tolerate something b4 surgery develop an intolerance to it afterwards. Either way check with your Dr & tell him exactly what you've been eating.

Are you getting in enough water? Dehydration can cause nausea.
