Band removed now wanting VSG
Hi I was banded in 2010, Had it removed 4.9.16. Insurance has ok for the sleeve. I don't have to loose weight but can not gain. For the first time in 6 years I am able to eat things. I can tell I am on a slippery slope and find myself sliding down fast already. Does anyone have suggestions to what I should do for the next 6 months to prepare for the sleeve?
When I started the weight loss process, my nutritionist had me follow the "post surgery diet" which consisted of 4 ounces of dense protein and all the healthy low-carb veggies I could eat. The program also allowed 1/2 cup of starchy food - rice, potatoes, bread, etc. but I chose not to eat these knowing that carbs cause food cravings for me.
I lost 50 pounds on this diet which really helped my efforts after surgery.
best wishes,
Carol

I was banded on 3/14/12 and my surgeon drained the fluid on 4/11/16. My band corroded and I stopped losing weight in 2015. Well, needless to say I eat like a freed hostage! On 4/12 I actually ate a medium pizza by myself. I just got my sleeve on 5/7/16. I was almost 200lbs again. It's a VERY slippery slope, and my a$$ was sliding fast!!!
