Protein Shake Idea!

I'm in the last couple days of being on full liquids after surgery....yay!  I am beyond excited to try EggFace's Ricotta Bake on Wednesday .  BUT, I wanted to share an idea for anyone out there also in the full liquids stage.  Right now I have either vanilla or unflavored protein powder.....ick! So, I remembered an idea my nut gave me at one of our meetings:  add sugar free jello mix to your shake!

This morning I'm sipping a vanilla & milk shake with a little orange sf jello mix and IT IS SO GOOD!!!  Like an orange creamsicle!  At 3-4 shakes a day (my nut's plan), this is definitely a great way to "shake" it up, haha.  Have a great day everyone!

Thanks for the tip. How much SF Jello did you add?

I'm still working on the ratio, but for an 8oz shake I'm using 1/2 to 1/4 teaspoon of jello mix....it's pretty strong stuff so a little goes a long way!

I just started full liquids today and I'm so confused. My plan says 4oz of protein shake with fat free milk. How much of each did you put? I have the EAS individual packets. And also says 4oz of chicken broth and powdered nonfat milk. How much of each did you do? Help please :(

It's best to consult with your nut because every plan is different and you are at a different stage of recovery than I am.  Right now, in my own stage of recovery I'm up to 2 shakes per day (each shake is 8oz ff milk + 1 scoop of EAS) and a serving of the cream soup recipe from my nut.  But, again, it's best to consult with your own program to clarify things since they are all different.

You can also add Jello sugar free pudding mix to shakes.  A tablespoon is 25 calories.

Another option: Celebrate peanut butter powder mixed with 8 oz. cashew milk. Then drop about 1-2 teaspoons of sugar free strawberry jelly and shake, shake, shake!
