hi! i've been poking around a bit, but thought i'd introduce myself...my name is isabel and live near boston. i just started the liquid diet for my surgery on may 11.  i feel exactly like a lot of you probably remember feeling on that first day- quite hungry and not just a little irritable. :)  i am, however, excited to be moving along. i started this process on december 15th and have been tested, measured, weighed, poked, and weighed, and weighed and weighed...so....very happy to be 14 days away!

you all have been very helpful to me so far and i look forward to chatting with you more!

Welcome!

The first three days are the hardest. Once you get over that hump, it does get easier. Also, the pre op liquid diet is probably the hardest part of this whole journey!

Before you know it, May 11th will arrive and you'll be joining us on the "other side"!

I was one of those for whom recovery was a total cake walk. I wish for you the same!

Welcome.  This is a great forum.  The liquid diet days 3-7 were the hardest for me.  Hang in there.

I stayed hungry and irritable for the entire pre-op diet; sorry for the bad news.  This is the worst of it though.  I thought the pre-op was even worse than the puking after surgery.  Good luck to you.

On the first day of my pre-op diet, the ARNP at my surgeon's office said to think about the weight loss journey beginning today, not with the surgery.  I found it very motivating to weigh myself daily during this stage and see my progress as the scale started to move down.  I was generous with myself and took naps and went to bed early.

Welcome!!  Hopefully, you'll be as happy as everyone else here that they had this done!  Good Luck to you and hope you have a nice recovery.
