Hi Guys,

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  I'm spending the day with family, and then I have a lot of cooking to do because I'm out of healthy food!

I'm cooking salmon, a cheeseburger quiche,  Chicken with Dijon and lime.  Orange-balsamic chicken, and low carb meatballs this weekend.  My daughter started dieting and is doing great, so she's started eating my low cal foods.  So more cooking for me!  I'm thrilled with her success.

Breakfast - salmon - as soon as its ready! hehehe

Lunch - meatballs

lunch2/snack - broccoli slaw or one of the chicken dishes

Dinner - the other chicken dish.

vitamins - on track

water - good

exercise - mostly cooking! and some walking

Next?

I'm on Day #2 of my two week Pre-Op Sugar Free Liquid Fast.  I just want to say THANK YOU Carol for posting these every day!  You are a wonderful inspiration!  I can't wait to be on the looser's bench with you and everyone else.  I have been researching this site since I started my journey back in July or August of 2015.  It has taken me a long time to get all my medical pre-surgery stuff out of the way and get all of my approvals.  I really look forward to your posts every day, and reading about everyone's progress.  I am so glad I found this site and these forums and that there are fabulous people like you posting all the time!  It has been really beneficial!  Once my surgery was scheduled and I had a date on the calendar, I became terrified and started to have a lot of anxiety!  I have been on these boards reading and researching, and now that the surgery is getting closer, I am more excited than scared.  Again, thank you for posting!

Thank you for your kind words.  This site has been a great help to me in my weight loss journey and I am happy to continue the tradition of support for others starting the process.

Obesity is a tough condition to deal with, especially when it is so mis-understood in our culture.  I am sure -- especially after seeing the changes after WLS -- that obesity is a disease.  Its not about will power, or being weak or undisciplined.  We've all been thru a lot dealing with obesity and I'm glad we can be here together in our recovery process.

best wishes,

Carol

Good morning!  We have a busy weekend planned - I have back-to-back birthday parties to take my son to. The first one is at the zoo and it sounds like they aren't serving a bunch of food, which helps.  Last bday party I took him to, it was all I had not to dive headfirst into the pizza.

Post-Op Full Liquid Diet - only 3 more days of this.  I am fantasizing about eggs.

B - Syntrax Nectar Fuzzy Navel

L - tomato soup, Proti 15 drink

S-going to make some of Eggface's protein pudding.  Sounds good.

D - Quest Banana Cream shake

S - sugar free popsicle or fudgsicle

V - not yet

E - will plan to walk an hour, and will likely get more steps in carting my son around to all these activities!

W - on track

I cook the salmon by a technique called Sous Vide.  Its a French technique where you vacuum seal the food in plastic and then cook it slowly at low temp in a water bath.  Then you sear it in a frying pan to give it a little crispness on the surface.  It comes out very moist and soft - which I like.  My hubby got the equipment a few years ago, after being inspired by a friend of his who is a chef.  I like it, but I don't know that I would have ever bought the equipment myself. its a bit pricey.

But I do like how it cooks my salmon.

best wishes,

Carol
