hi...new girl here :)
Hi there! I'm Ana. This is my first post on this forum. I've been lurking a little bit today and finally decided I should probably introduce myself.
I was sleeved on March 28, in Pittsburgh, PA. My surgery was less than exciting. The doc said everything went very well and she encountered zero issues. The procedure was on Monday morning and I was discharged on Wednesday afternoon. Recovery went very smoothly as well. I was prepared to encounter lots of nausea and gas pain, and was one of the lucky ones that experienced neither. I haven't had any problems getting in my required water. I was really worried about dehydration, so I'm happy that wasn't an issue for me.
I had my one week post op appointment on 4/4/16. They told me I had lost 19 lbs since surgery, which was crazy to me. That day, they advanced me to full liquids. This week when I weighed myself I was down another 2.5 lbs. I am now on pureed foods and again, doing really well. I haven't had any aversion to anything. I'm sticking to high protein food, mostly white fish, creamy scrambled eggs, cottage cheese and yogurt.
I am so happy with the progress I've made so far, and feel so lucky to have had such a smooth recovery so far.

Hi Ana, wellcome to the forum,
way to go girl, I am sooooo happy for you, I had my surgery one day earlier than your, it went well as well but I still have some discomfort on my belly, my surgeon put me on the liquid diet for three weeks, i still cant meet my water or protein requirement for the day.
i lost 17 lbs since surgery which I am thrilled about but I cant wait to start soft food because I am sick of liquids
Congrats on your surgery! So happy for you as well!! Yeah, I still have some "aches" in the muscle area where they pulled the tummy out. But thank goodness, I can finally sleep on my side! I think that was the worst part of it for me!
Oh wow! I can't believe you'll be on liquids for 3 weeks! I think I'd have a harder time getting my water in if that were the case! I think I reached my protein goals because I was using two Premier Protein drinks daily. Are you able to have yogurt as one of your liquids? It was on my list during that phase. I'm down to one protein drink now with the pureed food. I'm on pureed food until the 25th, and I'm fine with it.
Congrats on the loss!! Your 3 weeks is nearly over! Hang in there! Do you go straight to soft and skip pureed?
