I was 63 when I got my sleeve about three years ago. I was a heavy-weight, starting at 385 pounds. I lost 98% of my excess body weight, and got to 160 pounds and a normal BMI. This morning I weighed 163, so I'm maintaining pretty well - with attention and effort.
The sleeve really works if you follow the rules and stick to your program. I think you'll be happy with your sleeve.
Best wishes,
Carol

I am 50 and had my VSG on 3/3/16. I also take hypothyroid medication. It was 5 weeks post surgery for me on Thursday. Today I am down 19 total. Not great, but not bad either. Better than I had ever done prior to the VSG. The dr said they would wait several months to retest my Thyroid function and adjust if necessary.
They already reduced on of my blood pressure rs in half.
Best of luck to to you!
I was 194.6 when I took the surgery, I lost 12 lbs and was stalling for the past 5 days, i've heard that age play a big factor for rapid waight loss and would like to ask you guys about your journey with that was it slow like mine or more rapid, i would love to hear any advice from you to speed it up a little bit more.
there are a lot of us who were 50+ when we had surgery. It does supposedly affect your rate of loss a bit (although many have lost a ton of weight regardless), but I think your low starting weight (194.6) will be a bigger factor than your age. People who have super rapid losses are often 300+ lbs at the beginning.
