Help so thirsty!!!!
im 2 weeks out and for the most part I have been trying to get in the 64oz of water a day like they requested me to. However even before surgery I would drink water a lot! Some times wake up in the middle of the night just to drink water..I have these moments where I get so dos thirsty that I just wanna chugg the whole cut or water but it's so frustrating that I can't because I have to sip sip sip... Any advice? Does it get better? Will I be able to drink water without sipping eventually ?
As soon as your swelling goes down more, you'll be able to drink more water. 3 weeks after surgery I could gulp water. The only time I feel too full from it is if I had a big dinner, even though I waited 30 minutes before drinking.
Hang it there, it will happen soon.

It took me good 6-9 months before I could really "chug" water but after a couple weeks you'll be able to take smallish but normal size drinks of water. And before you know it, it'll be a distant memory as you drink water without any thought of your surgery.

Thank you for this post. I was just telling someone that I have never been as thirsty as I am now. Man it has been so hard not to chug down a big ol jug of water, but glad to know it won't always be limited to an ounce(ish) at a time.
Yes! It gets easier. It took me a good 6 months before I could really chug a few gulps at a time :-)

at two weeks out, you can drink as much as you want as long as you aren't nauseated. Sip sip sip is for earl on when it is hard to drink. At two week out, I was drinking over 64 oz a day. Go for it. Drink all you want.
I was always a water guzzler.....after doing physical activity, cutting the grass. I liked chugging water! Initially I sipped, sipped, sipped and now I drink water without giving it a second thought. Its get better and you'll be able to do more than just sip.
