VSG and GERD

Thanks for posting this, Kathy. This was exactly what I was looking for. Do you have a surgery date yet?

A follow-up question: Has anyone heard of a surgeon who has refused to do VSG on a GERD patient? At my surgeon consult last fall I only wanted RNY, but I've completely changed my mind. At this point I'd say it's VSG or nothing - so I hope my doc will approve it. He ordered four separate tests on the GERD: upper endoscopy, upper GI, esophageal manometry, and 25-hr pH monitoring. I finally finished the last test today! That manometry was the worst! Way worse than the barium for the upper GI.
