It seems as if most have addressed your original post, so I would like to congratulate you on the awesome WL so far! 90lbs is very very impressive.
So even if you have to say goodbye to your beans for a bit, just know that once you've lost that additional weight you'd like, beans can def become normal again.
Thank you! I won't lie, it's been a slog at times.
I do think that all the loss might be contributing to how unsuccessful my pre-op liquid diet seems so far? I've been a SLAVE to the rules, and even though I've been on it since 3-21, I've only lost 3.5 pounds. That's it! Going 6 more days of it, counting today, but no way am I hitting the 10 pounds I was HOPING to lose during pre-op :****ep seeing these 20-ish pound pre-op losses and maaaaan... I gotta stop comparing myself, I know, but 3 measly pounds... so disappointing.
My surgery was on 8/4/2015, and I try to keep my carbs between 25-40 a day. I seem to do the best when they are under 30, but some days I have more than that. My calorie count is usually less than 700 calories, so my carb count has to stay small to get in enough protein.

I'm sure I'll be able to have more than 40 carbs a day when I'm in maintenance mode, but I'll still stay pretty low carb. I just feel better when I don't eat sugars.

Your best bet is to go for foods with at least 10g protein per 100 calories, since we need to get a LOT of protein in despite a limited food volume. Black beans measure in at roughly 6g protein per 100 calories, so there are definitely much better choices.

Yes, fiber is good-- but if you're getting that instead of protein, you're overall worse off.
Many people here take fiber supplements, might be worth checking out.
