Anyone else annoyed...

... by how judgy and punitive MyFitnessPal is when you don't get over 1000 calories?

You're not eating enough, time for a lecture and we're also withholding privileges. Not even going to post in your update stream that you completed your diary. So there! Eat something nutrient-rich then come talk to us. We'll see...

In other news... Day 4 pre-op diet went fine! I had a slightly bigger piece of lean meat with my daily salad since my filtration system is being installed tomorrow and I'll be without food/drink for the next... 15-16 hours...  It was 1.5 ounces bigger than usual... but had a 20g  carb day, so still counting it as a big ole check in the Good column.

High Weight 376, about a year before program. I gave up diet pop(and all pop), dropped 30 pounds without trying, and kept it off. Now convinced Carbonated Beverages. Are. Evil.

DISCLAIMER: My posts often have weird typos... Because I use a tablet or Kindle to access the forums despite how much I suck at tablet typing. Apologies!

Love your positive outlook. You gave me a little chuckle on the MFP comment. It really is pretty judgmental. Lol good luck with everything.

If I couldn't laugh at these things, I think I'd go a little mad. :) Humor in the face of annoyance... that's pretty much my default position.

I totally get it. I'm the one that finds humor in everything. It's my only super power.

I think we'd all be surprised at the number of people with eating/exercise disorders on MFP. If you follow some of the forums, they seem to be on the lookout for that. You've just identified another NSV to look forward to.... reaching goal, starting maintenance, and not getting admonished ! ?

Age: 64; 5' 5"; High weight: 345; Start weight: 271 (01/05/15); Surgery weight: 218 (05/27/15); Pre-Op (-53); M 1 (-18); M 2 (-1.5); M 3 (-13.5 ); M 4 (-13); M 5 (- 8); M 6 (-12) M 7 (-5, Xmas); M 8 (- 9) Under surgeon's goal and REACHED HEALTHY BMI 12/07/15!! (Six months and one week.) AT GOAL month 8. Maintaining at goal range (139- 144) ~ four (4) years !!

That is a good NSV. That should be added to the Big List of Goals...

But as for now, my reaction is always... NOT COUNT MY DAY, WILL YOU? WELL, HOW ABOUT IF I ADD THIS PROTEIN BAR I DIDN'T EAT? And then I Complete the day, get my feed thingie that tells me how many days in a row I've been good, and then I trashcan that protein bar again... and go along my merry way.

But you're right, I think I would be surprised by the number of people with eating/exercise disorders on MFP. I never hang out on those forums. I pretty much never open anything but the app on my tablet. Does it lecture the other direction, if say... you entered a 4000 calorie day? Does it give you a RED WARNING weight and admonish you to eat a healthy calorie range?

Now I really want to know that. I may have to lie to MFP in the other direction today to see what it does... Curiosity and all that.

I have a recipe of just 300 calories that I can adjust to meet my 1000 calories a day, because I have a compulsion to "complete my entry" lol I will put it in,  complete the entry, then delete it. I might be a little OCD

Age: 34 / Height 5' 8" / Starting weight July 2015: 446.0 lbs / Surgery Date & Weight: 1/19/16 - 320.4 / Lost pre-op: 125.6lbs / Goal Weight: 180 lbs

if you go into goals (under settings) it allows you to change your daily calories.. either that or don't complete the entry. I never complete my entry.

I've tried to do that but didn't put it under 1000 because I thought it would still lecture me!

Will try it tonight :)

Thank you!

I changed mine to 800 since that's about all of the calories I'm able to eat at this point. I get less scolding from MFP?
