Any Options Besides RNY for Reflux and Herniation?

Thanks!  But unfortunately, Dr. Mo was my surgeon in Baltimore -- so he's in CA, not me!  Which is too bad for me because it seems that the surgeons experienced in these other procedures are NOT from around here!  I'll investigate DS here -- but I'm not aware of anyone here who does it, even though we have two major university research hospitals!

I read up more on the DS and it looks like it does not resolve GERD and that GERD may be a contraindication for DS.  Unfortunately, RNY seems to be the option that practically guarantees to help the GERD.  I'll keep investigating!

my hubby developed a hiatal hernia and some enlargement of the upper part of his sleeve about 6 months out. he had a lot of reflux and vomiting. Dr. fixed it and tightened the sleeve as well.  he did fine.    diane s

Thanks! Since I've had reflux for sooooo long, way before the sleeve, I'm concerned that fixing the hernia will not fix the core problem of reflux.  But I'm still collecting info!  Thanks for letting me know that the hernia repair alone worked for him.
