On March 2nd I met with my surgeon and got my surgery date (March 14th AKA Pi Day!!).  They weighed me while I was there and was 396 lbs.  They put me on a liquid diet consisting only of protein shakes until surgery.  Three days ago I weighed myself and I was 377 lbs and just now I weighed myself and the scale said 366.9 lbs.  I've lost 30 lbs on my pre-op diet in the past eight days.  Is that even possible?  I haven't been under 370 lbs. in over a year.  I feel like my scale must be broken or lying to me.  Is this normal?  It would help to have something to compare it to.  How much weight did you lose on your pre-op diet?

Some times you can lose a lot of water weight when you first start a diet.  Then you'll have a stall when your body readjusts.  So enjoy it while it lasts, and don't let it throw you when you stall.  As long as you are eating less calories than your body is burning, you'll be losing fat.

good luck with your surgery.

I've lost 11lbs, I've got 3 more days left till my WLS on Monday.  I lost almost all of that the first week.  I attribute it strongly to the amount of water I'm drinking.  Previously if I drank 20oz that was a good day now I'm doing 60-80oz.

Wow, that's terrific!  You're off to a great start.  I lost none, my surgeon did not require a pre-op diet so I took advantage of it...
