I'm probably behind the times but have you guys seen the documentary Fed Up? It's on Netflix USA if you want to watch it. It talks about the obesity epidemic and what is causing it especially in children. It's breaking my heart because I see myself in these kids and they're so unhappy, and feel so bad about themselves. It talks about how the food industry is extorting government officials and the World Health Organization to get their highly processed full of sugar foods on the shelves at the grocery store. It's literally sickening, but so informative.

Plan on giving it a look- I am ever so hopeful that the current trend of using organic whole foods continues and strengthens. We would all benefit, not just us obese folks!

It was good but sensitive me cried because of the little girl Maggie she cries a couple times in the movie and it broke my heart. They also had a doctor that literally said we're doing it wrong when we tell people to eat less and move more because it's not simple like that anymore. Worth the watch to me for sure.

So jus****ched it. It has inspired me to revamp a persuasive unit that I teach in my classroom. Thought you might get a kick out of the idea that your post resonates with folks!  Off to make a difference now in children's education about nutrition...

You're welcome if you're sensitive like me you may tear up. I fully cried. I am so tender hearted and feel so very much for others. It was good though.

I watched it a couple weeks ago and it was really sad that people with a normal amount of knowledge trying to navigate buying groceries for their family are finding it really hard to make the right choices.  Packaging which is misleading or information such as sugar % of daily total not even being listed makes me mad.  I felt really bad for the girl sitting there making a "better" decision eating the nutella when it's not really a better choice.

As we know it take a lot of special studying in order to make excellent choices for our food choices.  I'm so glad you're all here to help with that.

It is so sad to me. Especially the parents honestly trying to get their kids to lose weight for their health. I as super excited when the young boy Brady's family started eating better and he had lost 65lbs but at the end where they said in a few months he gained it all back it was terrible!

I was too, and then also the let down.  We've all done it, loss gain loss gain, I felt really bad.

The show really helped me make the decision to try and stop sugar in my post op diet (3-14 is sugery).  For me I think it's an addiction that causes me issues.  I've weened myself from a lot of my vices in prep and am goin. To try and just not start back up on things with sugar after.
