Warning this is 1 of those mushy gushy introspective blog/posts so turn back now or proceed with caution. lol

Well finally I lost more than I weigh. Its a huge milestone for me. I feel like I'm on a bridge & on 1 side is the bright light & the other is total darkness. The fatter me is walking towards the darkness while the thinner me is facing the light. I don't want to forget where I came from. Fatter me was my shield, but was vulnerable too. Thinner me takes fatter me hand & drags her towards the light with me. Thinner me gets to come out & be the shield fatter me always was but now doesn't have to be, she gets to be nurtured, protected., etc.  Fat me is always with me, just on the inside now.

Ok, time for me to stop blogging.

Congrats!  I will always identify as a "fat girl".  I was a fat girl for most of my life.  Being fat shaped my personality.  It strengthened my ability to show compassion and empathy to others who are discriminated against.  It proved to me that I had the strength to persevere.  I learned a lot about who I am when I went from fat to thin in the 9 months after surgery.

Never forget where you came from, what you've learned, and why it matters.

Pay it forward.

Congratulations T    This is a huge milestone in our weight loss process.  I remember when I had the same realization.  It floored me to think that my body was double the size that it was now.

Fatter me swallowed the anger I felt and channeled it in unhealthy ways.  Thinner me is more open to talking to people, and being NICE.

Getting so deep T. An amazing thought though...that there used to be 2 of you....and me too. I never thought about it, but I am in that place too.

You'll never forget. A few do, and I don't think it works out very well for them. I can't imagine thinking of myself as a big huge fat guy.

The dark side has donuts. But things are still so much better in the light.

If you ever need a shield, we're here for you.
