Veggies

So what are some good ways to get in more veggies. I was thinking about making green smoothies so that it would be a slider and allow me to get more in. I know to be careful with the fruit so not to get a ton of sugar. But, not sure if its a good idea or not.

I can eat about 3 oz each meal, 2 oz meat w/ 1 oz veggie.

Please let me know what has worked for you.

I'm not sure what stage your are at but based on the amount your eatting it soulds like you are early on.  I didn't eat any veggies until month 4 probably.  I eat a fair amount now but still have dense protein alone for many meals.

Im 3 months out and the veggies help me

I started adding cooked veggies back in around the 2 month mark. I love veggies so this was awesome news for me! Typically I add them to whatever protein I am making, like I'll grill shrimp - weigh out 3 oz. and then another 1-2 oz of sauteed spinach, in a bowl sprinkled with parmesan cheese. Yum! I also add them in to meatloaf, as a side to all my meats, etc.

I'm a big fan of eating my calories since it satisfies me that much more, but if you're not a fan of the veggie taste, making smoothies wouldn't be a bad idea. But, like you mentioned, be careful of the sugar from fruit and the carbs of liquid veggies. I wasn't really cleared for fruit until 6 months out.

There is no advantage to getting more veggies in.  Making a smoothie is just pouring in extra calories and will slow your weight loss.  Concentrate on protein.

You are not going to get the fiber you need to poop by pureeing veggies.  Just get some Benefiber and take two doses daily.  It's clear, flavorless, and it does not get thick.  You can put it in any drink, hot or cold.

I haven't had a veggie in 2016, and I'm as regular as a Swiss watch.

I think I might have gotten my recommended three servings of veggies in 2015, but I might have fallen short.

I  love your advice.  It's nice hearing from someone who has been through it, has lost a lot and continues to be healthy and thin.  Thanks for your comments, and I hope I can lose down to my goal (and probably lower).

well you can drink some v-8 juice or tomato juice.  Or i like to puree spinach and eggs and a little cheese and make an egg bake. also chicken soup with veggies instead of noodles is good. cook them very soft.   diane s

I like to cook up artichoke hearts and sun dried tomatoes when I bake chicken.. Just add them to the pan with a squeeze of lemon and a tiny bit of butter.  Yum!
