I'm about 8 weeks and would like to know if it's too early to eat stuff like sesame seeds or sunflower seeds etc..

I was told three months.  That was because seeds could get caught in the places that are still healing.

It's best to avoid nuts and seeds early on in favor of food higher in protein. 1oz toasted sunflower seeds is 175 cal, 6g carbs, and only 4g protein. When you're only taking in 600ish calories per day, you need to be pushing protein HARD.

I was told to avoid anything with seeds, including strawberries for at least three months while my stomach healed.  Seeds could lodge into the sutures/staples and cause infection.

Since you're only eight weeks from surgery, you should avoid nuts entirely.  Way too many carbs and calories for someone after surgery.  Stick with dense proteins and vegetables.
