Your tips and tricks for when the scale stops moving???
I am down to 189 pounds since my VSG 8/24/15. Totally excited! I know that I should expect to lose weight in a stepwise fashion and that the scale is not something to obsess over. However, the last few days I have gained 0.2 pounds each day, I haven't had a weight gain since I started this journey and I admit it's freaking me out a bit!
i eat between 600-800 calories each day, usually in the 700's and I get at least 70-80 grams protein and less then 40g carbs most days. I cut it close with my water goal so trying to increase that.
Although I've heard a million times that stalls are normal, the deep, fearful parts in my head are struggling with seeing the scale go up. I don't want to be done losing at 189.
So, go ahead and tell me this is normal and that I need to chill, obviously I need to hear it!! But I would also like to know if people have any tips or tricks they try when the scale slows down or creeps up.
Thanks as always!!!
There is only one thing you can do. Make sure you are weighing and logging your food, making sure you know exactly how much you are eating. If you really are eating low calories, that's all you can do. Be patient. You are burning fat every day. The weight will come off.

You THINK increasing carbs broke a stall. I've seen people do all sorts of wild things trying to break a stall. One buried a buddha statue in their lawn. Swore it broke a stall.
By the time people get frustrated and start doing weird things to break a stall, it's been going on for a while. So they bury a buddha statue or eat a candy bar, stall breaks, and they have evidence for a new cure. The stall was ready to break anyway, and it was just a coincidence.
You have to look at things long term. Ignore stalls. If you are truly eating fewer calories than you burn, the fat will go away.

It's completely normal. I dealt with serious constipation and once "gained" 9 lbs over a week. It sucks and all but in the end, wasn't a real gain.
Best thing I've learned - I have NO control - none at all- over the number on the scale. All I can control is what I eat, how much, when and why I eat.
Best advice I was ever given - put the scale away for a while. It will help your sanity and give you the peace of mind you need to focus on those things that you can control. You obviously know what to do to lose weight - just keep it up.

In addition to what others have suggested, make sure you are taking measurements at intervals. I try to do thigh, upper arm, bust, waist and hips monthly. Those times my weight "hangs" a bit, more often than not the measurements have decreased.... sometimes significantly. Progress is not only measured by the scale ?.

Im not sure if it was a coincidence or not but a couple of times I changed up my meal/snack routine. I tried skipping the morning snack and then having a little bigger afternoon snack and after a couple days I saw some changes. The main thing though is to keep on plan and keep your carbs as low as possible and keep your calories low.
Keep up with your usual food weighing/calories/plan.
Good job being mindful. Bu once you have reviewed your plan and found it to be solid, focus on something else, something enjoyable! Time will pass, the stall will break. Trust this.
If putting away the scale helps your brain, then do it.
For myself, an important part of this process is to accept a daily weight and avoid attaching emotional baggage to it. I have a disastrous history of putting the scale away as part of denial and I think it is essential to avoid this for long term success. (I don't see you as being in denial.)
Best wishes in your journey! You are doing great!

I had a month-long stall last summer. I was extra careful about measuring and increased my water (something I always have a struggle with). Though I didn't lose a pound for 4 weeks (according to the scale), a pair of pants that fit me very snugly at the beginning of the month was loose by the end of the month, so the fat was still coming off, even though the scale number didn't change.
"Stick to the Code"! If you're doing everything right, you're losing fat. There's no way you can't be losing fat.
