I have finally finished off the tubs of protein powders that I don't really like but got as experiments.  Yay!

Of course this means I'd like to try another experimental powder.. have any of you tried any interesting flavors that you've loved recently?

I've been doing really well with Syntrax Nectar as many have recommended here - I do mostly fuzzy navel with a little twisted cherry mixed in.  They a gazillion flavors to choose from!  Depending on sales I get it from either vitamin shoppe or vitacost.

One of my two favorite powders is the Mint Chocolate Chip from Syntrax.  Yum.

My go to is Syntrax Nectar Chocolate Truffle which I mix with a packet of Swiss Miss Light and make a yummy hot cocoa. Another fav is Big Train's Chai Fit Frappe - but the protein isn't isolate and the carbs are higher.

I had a sample of Quest peanut butter protein powder when I was at Vitamin Shoppe a while back, and really liked it. This is despite the fact that they just mixed it with water, which I usually find gross, I much prefer almond or cashew milk. Anyway, it was very good, though I didn't purchase any (I had a whole cupboard full of various protein powders at home). I also tried the Quest chocolate protein powder there and thought it was absolutely vile! One of the worst protein powders I have ever tasted. If you find yourself at a Vitamin Shoppe or GNC you might see if they are willing to do a sample for you. I refuse to buy a tub of protein powder without sampling it first -- usually buy samples from Vitalady.com or Nashua Nutrition.

Chike makes the protein powder that I love the most -- I love all their flavors (banana, mocha, orange, chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, iced coffee) but am very partial to the iced coffee. But the calories & carbs are pretty high so I am careful with that brand.

Have you thought about taking a break from protein shakes to see how you do? I know several people have posted about having better luck losing their last few pounds after giving up protein shakes.

Whenever I've taken a break from having a shake for breakfast, my stomach gets extremely unhappy.  I might try again at Spring break to see what happens, since I'll have time to deal with messed up bowels, but it's a non-option right now.

Inspire makes the most outstanding protein powders. I have tried the peanut butter cookie, caramel latte, pumpkin pie (seasonal), and dutch chocolate cake. The only one that I wouldn't order again is the dutch chocolate cake, it's kind of blah to me but lots of people love it. My next order will be peanut butter cup and a re-order of the other three flavors.

They are all whey protein isolate.

Call your local Vitamin Shoppe to see if they have a sample day. Our Vitamin Shoppe has one day a month that they sample all their bariatric friendly products.

Chike or Click mocha expresso. I blend it with almond milk and it is excellent for a protein powder!
