First experience with "real food"
I would definitely work up to that 3-4oz. When I was a month out, I could do maybe an ounce or two. I was on 300-400 calories for a good 6 months. You're still fresh out of surgery, your nerves have been severed and are not sending full signals to the brain.
Glad you had such a positive first experience! As the weeks go by and you begin eating denser protein you'll begin to experience more restriction. Take full advantage of it!

I'm 9 months out and I still can't finish a 2.5oz package of tuna in 30 minutes. I don't know what it is about tuna, but it's the most difficult protein for me to get down.
