Every Other Day Diet - thoughts for non-bariatric folks

I'm with you. NO diets for me anymore. I've lost my regain simply by eating in a way I know is sustainable over the long haul and watching my calories like a hawk! What I do might not be right for someone else, but it sure as hell works for me. I eat a lot of protein, yogurt, berries, a few select vegetables (not a veggie fan - could leave them out totally in all honesty), a few servings of fruit during the week (maybe two or three) and some good fats. Oh, and I limit carbs (but not dairy carbs - I'm more lenient about them.)

Yeah, the way I eat wouldn't work for a lot of people, but it works for me.

Same here. High protein is easy for me, and I can sustain it. No veggies is a no brainer. The only way I get off track is when I give in to crappy carbs. It's always crappy carbs that get you.

Totally agree about the crappy carbs- always, always my downfall. I would never gain an ounce if I only at meat and asparagus!

Excellent points.  I just looked up the 16:8 diet as well.  Might be a more realistic plan for most people.

I sent my friends the info below because many of them asked us what diet we were following.  I had sent them the key bullet points of the eating plan - knowing how hard it is - and they haven't really been able to follow it for any period of time.

I came across the Every Other Day Diet after seeing an article about Jimmy Kimmel on the 5:2 diet, which is actually an offshoot of this plan.

Has anyone heard of this plan?  Is it something that could be doable for "non surgery" folks? I'm really just trying to offer my friends some help so they can be a little healthier.

http://www.eoddiet.com/   It's a variation of what Jimmy Kimmel is doing, but much easier to stick to.   Every other day gals eat 500 calories a day (guys get 600 calories) and the non low calorie days you eat what you want.   The studies on this method looked very encouraging so I wanted to pass it along. The reviews on Amazon about the book and method were also very encouraging.

I guess in ust don't understand why. It is your responsi to find sustainable diets for your friends.

We are all responsible for our own selves. Nobody found your vsg for you ,did they?ð?'?
