Hi guys!

I am starting to become a nervous wreck! My surgery is on Wednesday, I go in for my preop appointments on Tuesday.

I went shopping for my liquid diet, how did you keep yourself "full" I have to do full liquid the day before.

I also got a couple protein powders, one I like and one I haven't tried yet.

I like the EAS 100% Whey Vanilla, and I bought Pure Protein 100% whey Chocolate. Any other suggestions?

Also got some broths, jello, caffeine and sugar free drinks, powerade Zero.

I was just approved for Surgery on 12-22 after fighting for 7 months with insurance, it was so sudden she just threw me on the schedule.

So I really haven't had the time to prepare myself.

Congratulations on winning the battle with insurance.  I am so happy for you.

Its normal to be nervous.  But know that the vast majority come thru the surgery with little or no problems.  So try to save the worrying until you have something to worry about!

I think you are going to love the results.  I lost 225 pounds and went from 385 pounds to 160 pounds.  I'm a normal weight and I've been maintaining at this weight for over a year.  I love my sleeve and I think you will too.

For me, the surgery was uneventful.  I felt like I had the flu for a few days, probably due to the anesthesia.  But I had little pain and no nausea.  The first few months of getting used to my new tummy was not fun, but always manageable.  But it was so worth it.

I wish you every success on your weight loss journey.  Please keep us posted.

Congratulations on not giving up and getting your approval!  Good for you.

Syntrax Nectar has been a lifesaver for me, and was recommended here on OH.  It comes in a ton of flavors, blends very thin like a juice, so I count it as a glass of water as well.  The best price I've found is at www.vitacost.com

I was so excited/anxious for my upcoming surgery that the liquid diet didn't even phase me.

I kept myself busy all day long to keep my mind off of it the best I could. Drank lots of water, sipped some chicken broth and then drank more water. Everything on your list was spot on.

My surgery went as good as possible, but while I was in post op I reeaallly struggled with nausea and trapped gas pain for about 2 hours. After getting that under control, I was taken up to my room.

The absolute BEST advice I can give you is to get out of bed and start walking around the halls as soon as you possibly can. Walking will help break up the trapped gas quickly, which will greatly reduce any pain you feel. Just keep walking and burping

Don't forget the sugar free popsicles.  They saved me the first few weeks after surgery.  I would not have met my liquid goals without them.  Good luck!

Drink, walk, drink. Not drinking enough is the biggest reason why people feel weak and nauseated. Use sugar free popsicles and jello, crystal light -- whatever you have to do. Especially if you don't want to.

You'll do great. Let us know how you are feeling.

You will do great!  Nerves and anxiety are normal but it's over before you know it.  Then you can work on healing and making this journey successful for you.  I'm 8 weeks out and have had no issues besides getting used to my new improved stomach!  Best of luck and let us know how you're doing.  I order the chocolate and unflavored protein powders from Unjury and use the ready to drink premier protein shakes. The Unjury chocolate tastes amazing.
