constipation
I've had trouble with constipation since I started the diet, and I take a 1/2 dose of miralax daily to manage it. I assume I'll need to do this the rest of my life (been doing it for almost 3 years) but its a small price to pay for my health.
best of luck,
Carol

Sorry you're having issues with going to the bathroom. The preop diet, I actually had the opposite until after surgery. Milk of magnesia worked for me but looks like not so good for you. You are of course welcome to try other things but I'd call your surgery group/office and see what they recommend just because my surgeon made it clear he wants all meds approved through them so it didn't conflict with their medical treatment/records. Plus sometimes they have the best solution for you.
Super common problem - pre-op and post-op. My doctor suggested MiraLAX. It is safe enough to use everyday. It's really true that it mixes into anything liquid and has no taste. I can't taste or see it in water. Oh how I wish I could say that about the protein!!
About three days on the stuff should produce "results."
You really want a clean start, if you know what I mean, BEFORE surgery because after it will be so much harder. Uh, no pun intended.
Drink, Drink, Drink. You really want to be as far over 100 oz of water a day in the couple days before surgery as you can.
Good luck!

I didn't experience it on preop but rather post op I have been having the hardest time with constipation! I had surgery on December 10th and the first week post op I had loose bowels and now the opposite lol. I saw my surgeon on the 22nd and he suggested miralax which works like a charm. I take it every three-four days and it usually produces a bowel movement for me the next day. Good luck and don't worry it is not uncommon to experience constipation.
