Starting the process..

Well I finally have started this weight loss process. I am into the second week of writing down what I eat.  Will be mailing it back in after this second week, and then they will call me to schedule my first appointment at the bariatric clinic at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau, WI.  I am really excited as I have wanted  to do this for years.  This past year I was diagnosed with severe COPD/emphysema.  I already have sleep apnea, am borderline diabetic, have hypertension and have pulmonary hypertension, gout and arthritis. I am hoping the weight loss surgery will help in getting weight off faster and this will improve my COPD (breathing) to some degree.  Although I do know that COPD is not curable, but, I do know that there are ways of treating it to improve your quality of life.  I look forward to interacting with a lot of you as I go through this 6 month process and beyond.

I'm so pleased that you are moving forward in the weight loss process. I hope it is as rewarding and successful as my journey has been.  I suspect you will see improvements in many areas of your health.  Please keep us posted as you continue your journey.
