My name is Gabe, 24, I just had a sleeve gasterctomy coming up on two weeks ago.  Currently in the awful stage where I can only eat puree and have to crush all my pills, that said I've been recovering well.  Hope to get to know all yo wonderful people!

Hi Gabe! Welcome to the board. We are very glad to have you here. The first two weeks after the sleeve are rough in my opinion, but it definitely gets better! I'm a little over a month out and feel like my normal self again minus 22lbs. You will be back to taking your medicine soon and have an entirely lighter 'you' to celebrate. :)

So far I'm happy to see everyone is actually able to eat food because the last 2+ weeks of eating nothing but mashed stuff and protein shakes is awful, I feel like I'm crazy to be so bothered by it after such a short time, but it's felt really hard, is that normal?  During my first week, when I was having nothing but protein shakes and jello, I felt like I'd never eat real food again.

It is normal to have a tough time with food during recovery. But keep a positive attitude and keep eating the recommended foods. It's no fun, but there's no other way to get through it.

I was absolutely on the same page as you right after surgery.  I was so sick of jello, broth and protein shakes.  I can't even look at jello to this day as it makes me nauseous thinking about it.  I also do not do protein shakes as I prefer to get my protein from food.  It will get better, believe me.  This too shall pass.  Hang in there!
