Hey EVERYONE!

This is my first post! Super excited!!! Dec 29, 2015 is my official date. Everyone around here (work, roommate, family...etc) is pretty excited for me--which makes me even more excited! I didn't know we had an official nickname (VSG)...in fact, I just found out that it's called "vertical" gastric sleeve. I've been looking up bariatric recipes, eating my preop menu (just started today!), putting in measurements here and looking up excersise routines for after surgery!

Starting weight: 260ish (I need to hop on today and get the official weight). Goal weight: 150

HERE WE GO!! YAAAA!

I'm so excited for you!  You won't believe how fast the time will go now that you have your date.  Before you know it you will be on the loser's bench with so many of us, and will be starting your new, healthier life.  You're so lucky to have so many people supporting you, and encouraging you.  My support system makes all of this so much easier, and keeps me motivated to keep on keeping on with my weight loss and my new health.

Good luck with your pre-op diet.  Let us know when you are home from surgery and don't forget to ask for advice, if you need it.

Hey there!

my surgery date is on December 22nd so I am right there with you. As of today, I am one week into my pre-op liquid diet. The first few days were pretty tough, but it's gotten better every day since. 10 lbs down already!

I am a bit nervous about all the post op shenanigans, but reading the posts from this group makes me feel better. Looking forward to checking back in after my surgery!

Congratulations on your date.  It's an exciting time and it will be here before you know it.

If you haven't checked out Eggface's blog yet, http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2007/08/puree d-foods.html, please make sure you do, especially the recipes for pureed foods.  They are lifesavers when you transition to foods.  The ricotta bake in infamous and the first thing many of us try.  After drinking sweet cold stuff after surgery, warm  and savory food is wonderful.

Thanks everyone for your response. How do I make the status bar for weight loss that ya'll have?

See the picture in the upper right that looks like a graph (or mountains) next to the trophy? Click that it will take you to a page where you put in your current and goal weights (and BMI's if you want) and then once you've done that you will want to click the little blue button that says "manage tickers". It's pretty self explanatory from there. Congratulations!!! My surgery is 12/17/15 so I'm right there with you
