New Shoes

Hey Everyone!

Christmas is fast approaching and I'm getting questioned about what I'd like this year. I found a pair of tennis shoes that I would really love to have but I just had surgery on November 12th and I'm honestly worried that my feet are going to change too rapidly to wear them. Is that something that I should be concerned about? Should I just use the sneakers I already have until I level out? I understand buying new clothes but shoes are a little too expensive for me to be buying and re-buying. Also, I'm looking into getting a FitBit. Does anyone here have any reviews on those? Are they worth the expense?  Thanks so much!

I am no expert on this topic, but here's my take. Are your feet swollen? I have lost 50 pounds and my feet haven't changed at all, but they weren't swollen before my surgery.

If it were me and the old shoes weren't too worn out, I'd just keep using them and only buy new ones when they wore out or when they got too loose on my foot.

I went down an entire shoe size in about 6 months.  I flopped around in my too loose shoes for a long time.  It really is your call.  If wearing shoes that fit is important (like if you intend to start running) then I would get a good pair of shoes.  If you don't mind walking in sloppy shoes (never bothered me), then wait until you are closer to goal.

My feet didn't change that much and I am over 2 years out.

I was a 10.5 EEE and 146# later I'm at 10.5 D/E.  I would stick with what you have for now if I were you.

Definitely let Santa bring you new shoes! If they get too big, wear two pairs of socks to fill them up. It's almost winter; the new shoes will keep you toasty and happy.

When I lost 70lbs with my lap band I went down a full size. Since you are talking about tennis shoes get your size, you can always tighten the laces.

Wait til your feet finish shrinking. Get the fitbit. I will never be without one again.

I agree! The Fitbit is awesome. I always think of myself as sedentary and it's funny because I "walk" at least 3 miles a day just in my house and caring for the kids, etc. I had no idea I actually moved that much lol. Anyway it's really motivating, so yes!! Totally worth the money.
