Tracking Foods
Hi All,
I am trying to get in the habit of tracking all my food, water, exercise etc.....My questions are:
Do you have a favorite app for this purpose?
Do you pay for a membership to the app or just use the free version?
Is there a website you can use as an alternative?
Is there anything free that does the job quickly and easily?
Thank you!
I currently use the MyFitnessPal app and I used to use the LoseIt app. I actually prefer the LoseIt app, but I switched to MFP because I wanted to have a ticker in my signature here that I didn't have to manually update every day and LoseIt didn't have that.
Both apps can be used for free, but they do have premium versions for $30 or $40 per year, and they both have websites that you can use along with the phone app.
If you want to track your water with the MFP app, I think you have to pay for the premium version. LoseIt does it for free *I think*. But, I'm not 100% sure on either case. I paid for the premium versions of both shortly after I installed them.

I've been using myfitness pal from the beginning. It's free and I can track my food, water and I use the notes section to track my vitamins. It's been so helpful. I also now use the weight loss ticker there as the one on OH stopped updating.

My husband and I both use MyFitnessPal. We chose to upgrade to the pro version as it allows you to see more detailed breakdowns of your daily nutrition (you can click on protein for example and see exactly how much was in each food item that day). It's cheaper to pay for an annual subscription, as it then works out to less than $5 a month (totally worth it!).
I also like MFP because I can use it on my desktop computer as well, sometimes it's easier when creating recipes that have a lot of ingredients. It's super fast and easy to use on both your phone/tablet and desktop versions.
MFP syncs seamlessly with my Jawbone Up fitness tracker as well, so my steps show on MFP and my food/weight transfers to my Jawbone app. I tried many different food tracking apps and none of them were as good or easy to use as MFP.
