I have not had a hysterectomy, just oopharectomies, but I have lost 145lbs total (105lbs since surgery on 3/31/15) where I was never able to maintain a steady loss, let alone a steady weight, before WLS. My ovaries were taken in 2009, when I was 24 years old.

I had RNY not VSG...but I did have a total Hysterectomy about 4 years ago, so threw me into menopause as well..... Had my surgery about 16 month ago and have lost well.

How did you do on your 6 month supervised diet before wls?

I didn't have a 6 month diet. It was only about 2 months. Honestly I didn't think I could do it. If I had to do 6 months I am sure I would have wavered more. My first month was eat 100g of protein a day including one protein shake and not eat more than 100g carbs and didn't have to count non-starchy vegetables in that. I lost about 10lbs in 5 weeks. The last 3 weeks was the liquid diet which for me wasn't totally liquid- 3-4 shakes a day(20-30g protein and not more than 200calories) one meal of protein and veggie or salad and 2 apples or pears a day if we wanted. He preferred the meal to be at lunch if possible. I lost another 10-12lbs.

I was told I needed to lose 15 before surgery. Good Luck, you can do this.

I had a total hysterectomy several years ago and had WLS, sleeve last December. I have had no problems. I just wished I had done it a few years ago. :) Very pleased with the results. I am now 58, lost 97 lbs. So, yea, having total hysterectomy and WLS was the best decision for me, no problems. :) Good luck and ENJOY!!
