Well, this will definitely prepare you for after surgery so please follow it completely, it sucks but it is a very important part of this whole process.  Just follow your Drs rules/requirements to a T and you will be fine.  It's hard for the first few days, but it will get better, you may get some headaches, be irritable etc.  And I find that it's the head hunger that plays games with me!  Best of luck to you!

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery.  The 2 week liquid diet is tough, but you can do it.  Any weight you lose before surgery will help you at the end when your weight loss slows.  You'll be glad you did it.  Plus any weight loss makes the surgery safer.

Good luck,  You've got this.

The first three days are the hardest. Don't cheat. If you do cheat, don't beat yourself up, just get back on track. This is a great opportunity to get your head in the game and lose a little weight before surgery.

Today I'm starting my second week on my pre-op liquid diet, and I'll admit it hasn't been pleasant. I've had a few moments of desperation where I was hell bent on eating. I took a very small handful of shredded cheese, and was soooo excited and alas, it tasted nasty.... I guess my body is already detoxing from processed foods and I can taste the chemicals (which is a good thing!). Then of course I felt super guilty, even though it was so small, it just wasn't worth it.

Just try to remember that it's all worth it, and this is something you can do to make sure you have a safer surgery!

Also, I lost 9.8 pounds so far since I started, so that helps motivate too!! Keep us updated on how it goes for you!

Thanks for the feedback! I know this isn't going to be easy. The only problem I have is when I make the shake in the blender it comes out foamy which is just plain nasty to try to get down.

I can't wait to see more pounds to start dropping off...I had already lost around 22 lbs before now starting the liquids.

One day at a time!

Have you tried putting ice in it when you blend? I do that sometimes on the weekend and it is more filling with the ice and more palatable... I'm just using a blender bottle most days, and still have some chunks of protein powder in it when I drink it (Yuck!)

I keep wide mouth glasses of water in the fridge, pull one out, empty a packet and use a wisk to mix it up.  I roll the wisk between the palms of my hand to spin it as I lift up and down.  One serving, cold and completely mixed without foam or chunks..and easy cleanup compared to a blender  :)
