Losing my mind
I'm on day 4 of my pre-op liquid diet and I'm really struggling. I can have 3 shakes a day, sugar free jello, and broth, but I'm still going to bed hungry and waking up hungry. I'm having problems sleeping and have developed a lovely headache which makes my work day just fabulous!
Did anyone else feel like this? How did you get past it? I feel like I'm going to cry (or snap at everyone at work!!)
The first 3-5 days are the worst. Stay strong, think about your goal and how great surgery will be. You can do it.

The first few days of pre-op liquids are the hardest. Can you take anything for the headache -- Tylenol, etc.? I'm afraid you'll have to muscle through this. It's hard but necessary.
Try not to snap at others, but it's okay to cry and indulge in a bit of self-pity. It releases some of the tension. Just don't wallow in it!
BTW, there will be moments after the surgery when you'll feel the same way. Accepting that this will happen helps ease the moments when they arrive.
When I read posts like yours, I laugh at people who say bariatric surgery is "the easy way out."

I think it's the easy way. Of course it's the easy way. But I'm ok with that.

That's a great idea, a little reward for getting through it. I know it's all worth it, and I'm going to stick through it no matter what. I'm just so emotional I'm sure everyone thinks I've lost it (and I think I may have lol).
Thanks everyone for the support and the reminder this isn't the easy way, but it is the best way!

jello and broth are essentially free items on preop. I would drink 4,5,6 cups of broth, one right behind the other as many times a day as I needed to stay a little ahead of the hunger.
i would make a larg box of jello and eat the whole bowl it made in one sitting if that is what was needed. Drink all you can of these items plus your shakes.
doing is I also lost 12 # on my preop diet.
