There was a study a while back about people with significant regain after WLS, and the things they do, or don't do, in common. Besides eating too much, obviously. Number 1 was drinking with meals, and Number 2 was not using or attending any kind of support system.

CAN you drink with meals, and not gain weight? Sure. But the odds are extremely high that you will end up eating more because of it.

Haven't heard that, so good to know!    I find I drink while eating to get rid of the "stuck" feeling in my throat.  Yes, I take small bites, and chew 25 times til almost liquid of whatever I am eating. don't know why I still feel like this? thanks for passing that  on!  Dee

Thanks Tracy, I agree, just because they are the "dr" and suppose to be "in the know" doesn't mean they have all the answers.  I love this site, so thankful I found it, so much info and experience here, and free!!ha!! I too know people who had wls only to gain most or all of it back in 3-4 yrs time.  they obviously learned nothing.  feel sorry for them.  3 members in my family have had it-  1 has gain 100lbs  of the 200 lost, 6yrs ago, 1 has gain 25 lbs of the 75 lost 6yrs ago, and the other has gain 50lbs of the 100 lost, 4 yrs ago.  So I am hoping to be the "winner" in this family.  Hard work & determination is key in my book, but with life long results!!  Dee
