Where will I be at one year?

I'm at 6 months or so post op.  My surgery day weight was 196, and today I am 156.  Weight loss has slowed, as I expected it would, though I am still losing around .7- 1 pound a week.  I don't think I'm quite out of the honeymoon period yet.  My surgeon told me (pre-op) that I could get to as low as 116-120.  That seems really ambitious.  My goal is 125, but that's now feeling ambitious.  For those who are at one year or beyond; where do you think I can expect to get around the 1 year mark?  I'm rethinking my goal.

For context, I'm really happy with my progress thus far, and I'm confident I'm doing everything I can, so there isn't too much I can change.  Just looking for some perspective.

If you continue to follow your plan I believe you will be at 125 in another six months and down to 116 in the six months after that.

I think another 30 pounds in 6 months is reasonable. If you want to increase the weight loss, look at what you can tighten as far as calories and carbs. Even with VSG you have to take your food intake by the horns, so to speak, to get to goal.

You are right, you are not out of the honeymoon phase. There is no reason to think that 116-120 is too ambitious. Not sure how tall you are, but I'm guessing in the 5'1"-3" range. I have two VSG friends in that height range. One looks fantastic at 105 and the other looks awesome at 120. You will know what works best for you. No one else can set your goal weight for you. It's a decision that must be personal, reasonable and well thought out. Your surgeon and NUT can help you decide on what is appropriate for you as an individual.

I found my rate of weight loss slowed in the second six months by about 40%, so I lost about 60% as much the second six months as the first six months.  If you have similar results, I'd guess you would lose another 25 pounds by your first surg-iversary  and then the rest slowly after.

Keep up the good work.
