Hi Everyone, Surgery day was today!
So I'm up again after off and on sleeping all day n I thought I would just come on and tell my vsg family how my experience was. Well first the put me in a preoperative room n hooked me up to iv and explained what was going to be happening especially within an hour of me waking up. Within about an hour an forty-five minutes i was being rolled off to surgery. They moved me on a table and then immediately put the anesthesia mask on and I was out lol. I woke up not really knowing where I was and feeling like someone punched me hard in the gut or like i had an extensive ab workout. I was in recovery for about an hour until i was able to keep my eyes open for 3 minute intervals. When I moved to my outpatient they made me start drinking water out of a medicine cup that you put liquid medication in everything 15 minutes. I also had a breathing thing (cant remember the name tight now lol). As far as pain it is true that walking helps with that definitely. But instead of walking all i wanted to do was sleep which my mom wouldn't let me do. Since my mom and grandmother also had the surgery they new what I needed to do. I was in this room for about 4 hours until my doctor csme in and congratulated me on how well I did and then home I went. I ended up with 6 little incisions and the only one that is sore is the one where my stomach came out so I keep an ice pack on that. Other than a few gas pains and one sore incession all is well! Thank you everyone who supported me on here I really appreciated it!
Glad you are home and doing so well. Now go and walk a little and drink.
