I weigh myself daily, first thing in the morning. both in weight loss and maintenance. Personally, I think it would be helpful to weigh less often - like once a week. This would smooth out the daily fluctuations that can drive me crazy. But I haven't been able to do it.

Good luck,

Carol

During weight loss phase I weighed only once per week, on Wednesdays, which was the day my surgery occurred on. I am a scaleaholic and knew in order to really focus on the lifestyle change needed I had to put the daily weighing on hold and concentrate on the other efforts I needed to make. This worked wonders for me and was very liberating.

In maintenance I began to weigh daily again however am working on scaling back to every 2 days then hopefully twice per week as I feel myself getting way too focused on just the number. Its a struggle for me.

I think it really depends on who you are. If you're someone who lets daily fluctuations rule your mood and how you eat, ditch the scale except on a weekly basis. If weighing yourself daily doesn't play with your emotions, go ahead and do it.

I weighed daily solely to collect data for a weight loss graph and to correlate loss to menu choices. It has helped me to go back and look at weekly weight loss and duplicate the menus/ideas I used that week. (Yes, I still have access to my food logs almost 4 years later! LOL)

I was and I'm still totally opposite of you. I didn't weight myself except at appointments. I bought myself a scale for my birthday back in June and I may weight myself every two to three weeks. I know my body and I know my clothes fit. My motivation comes from seeing a big loss on the scale. Everyone is different so do what works for you!
