Overdue Update

I've been trying to check in every few days, and there are so many posts I want to reply to, but I just have so little time.

College is going well - I'm in my first term of my associates in Exercise and Sport Science. I'm on track to graduate in January 2017 and then move on to my bachelors. So far I'm getting As in my 5 classes which is pretty exciting. And I have a crush on my English teacher, which is inconvenient. :P

I've been in physical therapy for my hip since July and I graduated today! It's put a cramp in my running, but I still ran my first 10k last Sunday. It was fantastic and I'm super proud of myself.

On Tuesday I'll start training again for my next race - my goal for 2016 is to run my first half marathon. Woo! I'm also going to start a new lifting plan next week which I'm super super excited about.

Now that things are sort of under control, I'm hopeful that I'll make my next goal of overweight by the end of the year. It'll take hard work and dedication, but I'm feeling like I can finally do it after pretty much maintaining since May.

Sorry I haven't been able to contribute very much since school started. I'm sad that I can't give back to the community that has given so much to me. I hope that'll change a little once I feel more confident in my new role as full time student.

Congratulations on your many accomplishments! You are doing so well and keep setting new goals! I think that is always a good thing as it keeps us from becoming complacent.

Get back on the boards as you can. If there is one thing I remember about college is that it seemed my work was never done! Not like a 9 to 5 where you were finished for the day. Homework, research, reports and study groups were ongoing...

You're doing good!

Kathy

That's so true about school. There's always a "next thing." Always.

When I have been in college, my rule is three hours of homework and study for each hour in the classroom. A twelve hour semester means at least forty hours a week when you add the classroom and study hours.

Having a degree is fantastic and having the degree with a very high grade point average is even better.

Enjoy your experience of school.

Great to see an update Gwen! So glad things are going well for you. I am in the same boat that I have not contributed to the boards for a LONG time because life has gotten so busy. I'm hoping I can change that.... it's good to stay connected to the community!

Congrats on the 10k!!!!!! :)
