I'm curious about dosage. How much acid reducer do you take and how often?

I am currently taking one OTC Prilosec in the morning per medical instruction but I'm not sure it's doing enough.

I am nearly three weeks out of surgery and have had no complications and am tolerating all food types well.

I take one Omeprozole a day, and if I get a little acid in the back of my throat after I eat, I will chew a couple of Tums Smoothies. They work like a charm.

My acid reflux wound up being absurd. I went on Dexilant and it is amazing. I take 1 30mg pill in the morning. I was also on OTC prilosec and it was doing nothing.

Definitely call your surgeon if you are still having issues.

I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

Over the summer I started having a lot of trouble with acid. Enough where I couldn't keep food down. Gastro doc put me on 40 mg Prilosec 2x per day for two or three days, then 40 mg in the morning. The stronger stuff is actually cheaper via the pharmacy than buying the 20 mg stuff out of Sams.
