Got My Surgery Date - What's Your Single Best Piece of Advice?
Trust your plan, and follow it like your life depends on it.
Age: 64; 5' 5"; High weight: 345; Start weight: 271 (01/05/15); Surgery weight: 218 (05/27/15); Pre-Op (-53); M 1 (-18); M 2 (-1.5); M 3 (-13.5 ); M 4 (-13); M 5 (- 8); M 6 (-12) M 7 (-5, Xmas); M 8 (- 9) Under surgeon's goal and REACHED HEALTHY BMI 12/07/15!! (Six months and one week.) AT GOAL month 8. Maintaining at goal range (139- 144) ~ four (4) years !!
Stalls happen. Don't let the weight on the scale discourage you. Weight is affected by many other factors - not just the fat burned. If you are sticking to your plan, and eating less calories than your body needs, you will be burning fat - even when the scale doesn't show it.
Also don't set unreasonable expectations for yourself. Its all about the long run - not how much you lose this day or this week. If you are headed in the right direction, does it really matter if you get to goal in 6 months? or 1 year? or 18 months? Relax and enjoy the process. If every day you are healthier and have better energy isn't that what's important?

I have to 2nd oceans advice...especially if 50 or over.
This isn't so much about losing the weight to look good, but to regain maintain your health & head off future medical problems.
Follow your plan like your life depends on it. Because your life...or quality of life DOES depend on it...
