Hi guys

I am 4 days post op. And my incisions are itching like crazy. Any ideas on how to deal with the itching?

Thanks!

Don't scratch, you will delay your healing and worsen your scarring. I showered a lot while they were itchy it seemed to help a bit. Goes away soon.

I was tempted too. i rubbed and gently scratched @ the skin near the incisions just not the incisions themselves and made sure not to pull the skin too taught while doing so. I really does ease up in a few days.

Has anyone tried the antiseptic numbing lotion from Sally's beauty supply. It's made for waxing pain, but might stop the itching. I doubt it could do any harm.

Try an ice pack over the incision area for a few minutes.

Ice packs help itching along with light tapping near the incision site so not to induce pain. I didnt itch much and found that an ice pack was all i needed.

Ice packs help a lot. So does Benadryl - you probably can't put any cream directly on them yet but hydrocortisone cream around the area might help. For me it's usually the glue from the medical tape that causes the problems.
