Tomorrow is the day! Today is clear liquids! What things were you able or supposed to consume during this phase? Please help. I missed the check-in call from my nutrition nurse on Friday and wasn't able to ask her.

I did water, flavored water, broth and sugar free Popsicles and sugar free jello. Just make sure whatever you have doesn't contain red dye.

Why no red dye? They didn't mention that and I made SF cherry jello.

The red dye can mimic blood.

Hi,

I had clear juices (no sugar added) such as apple and white grape, chicken broth and water. It was only 1 day so that is pretty much all I had.

Good luck tomorrow!!

Well, I didn't do clear liquid diet today... I have read over my paper work over and over again and no where on it does it say clear liquid the day before. I hope I didn't mess something up... I guess its a good thing then that my surgery won't be until late in the day... Now I am worried!

I didn't have a clear liquid requirement for the day before surgery (or ever). As long as you do not eat ANYTHING after whatever time it says on your paperwork, it will be fine and your stomach will be empty and ready for surgery.

Good luck!

It might have been just my doctors orders. How did your surgery go?

My surgery went well. I was really nervous but thankfully, all went well as planned. The nausea has been the hardest obstacle for me. I haven't been able to hold down and medications.. i think it has alot to do with how they taste. Even smelling the food my mom cooks (my husband is out of town so my mom.is helping me), makes me sick to my stomach. Feels like really bad morning sickness all day long. Thankfully, i haven't needed any pain meds. My insidious haven't hurt at all really. Only a little bit when I vomited or gag but I put a pillow on my abdomen for support.
