My Dr. is Dr. Kureshi in Sherman, Texas. I will be doing what they called P.A. T. on the 29th. I will be having a EKG and chest x-ray. This Dr. did surgery on my Aunt and she really liked him.

I did not find any bad reviews on line.

Now I don't know what to think?

I did look him up and it does say he runs a Bariatric Center of Excellence, so he must have some follow up program in place. I would call and ask someone from the office. Make a list of questions and ask them.

Good luck then. I was just surprised because most doc require patients to have EGD, when they scope you to make sure there is nothing wrong with your stomach, run tests on any abnormalities they find , to eliminate posibilities of cancer. Plus the test for H-pylori, and treat before the surgery... And so on...

On another hand - when I was ready to have it done - I wish I had mine fast, maybe in a month... Not sure a week would be enough for me...

Any way - good luck...

My surgeon is experienced and well respected and will process a self-pay very quickly. Also some insurances have no pre-op requirements and they sometimes are about a week from consult to surgery.

Those people do attend nutrition classes and counselling after surgery to help them to be successful.

I know this because people will attend a support group meeting and be in brand new learning mode.
