OMG! I have been stalled FOREVER!!!! Okay. It's only been about 6 weeks but it feels like forever! What's been your longest stall? How did you break it? Other health problems and a crazy work schedule are making working out impossible. I am getting in one 6 km walk and about 45 minutes of swimming a week. HELP!

I started to slow down as I got closer to goal and went weeks without losing. Once I got honest with myself, I had to admit I was eating more, primarily because I was pretty happy with myself. I finally hit goal when I cut out the empty calories and got my carbs back down to a reasonable level. Exercising certainly help and will help you get where you want to go. Good luck!

After such a long time with no weight loss, it is likely you've mistakenly found your maintenance level of calories. EDIT: With 50 pounds still to go, you're at the point where many people permanently stop losing weight (from my observation, many are 30-50 pounds from goal). So if you want this, you're going to have to fight for it. But it's so worth fighting for!

You may need to start weighing, measuring and recording your food to ensure you aren't eating more than you realize. To get things moving again and to keep things moving, you will likely have to drop 500 calories a day from what you are currently consuming. Focus on dense protein and throw the crap carbs out.

In maintenance, I drop 500 cals myself whenever I hit my 'red zone' (high) weight, so I feel your pain :(. Totally doable though. After a few days your new calorie level will start to feel normal.

You posted the same thing 2 months ago. Since then you have lost 9 pounds. Be honest with yourself about how much you are eating and track every bite. I agree with the above response that said you may need to cut back. Good luck!!

I am tracking my calories and staying between 1000-1200 cal per day. I steer clear of bad carbs like bread, rice, pasta and potatoes.

Many people maintain on 1000-1200 calories.

I maintain or gain at 1000-1200 calories daily. I keep my calorie count at about 700 calories in order to lose weight, and even at that amount, the weight is coming off a lot more slowly than it did. I don't exercise regularly, which is a habit I need to develop, and which I think will speed up the rate of loss. I think cutting back your calories and increasing your exercise (if you don't do that already) will break your stall.

It take 10 calories a day to maintain each pound. At 231 you need about 2300 just to maintain. Eating 1200 would be 1000 calories a day less than you burn and you would be dropping.

You need a food scale and a food tracker like My Fitness Pal. Track everyday and get a true calorie count. The difference between a 200 pound woman an a 400 pound woman can be a daily trip to McDonalds for a Big Mac, shake and fries.

Track everything and when you are really consuming only 1000-1200 calories a day you will start losing two pounds a week. In about six months you should reach your goal.
