How many times did you meet with your surgeon?

That's exactly the same schedule I had. I had a consult and then saw him briefly when I had the upper endoscopy. For me, the support and guidance of the nutritionists and my PCP have been far more valuable. I see surgeons as organ mechanics. Their job is to do a good job while I'm unconscious. The rest involves my participation.

Same here. First consultation, then pre-surgical appointment. Don't worry. The surgeon and his staff meet pretty often to discuss patients and how they're during both pre- and post-op. He knows what's going on with you.

I also had exactly the same contact with the surgeon - one consultation before surgery, and then he stopped by the morning of the surgery.
It worked.
