I have thought about wls before, but never thought I would be able to afford it. Well now a relative has said they will pay for it. I don't have insurance.

I went to a seminar last week on the Lap-band and the Gastric Sleeve.

I will be calling a Dr. to make an appointment tomorrow.

I'm so glad I found this site!

Welcome! How lucky you are to have a family member paying for your surgery! Which one did you decide upon?

Thank you Suzy for the welcome! I made my first appointment today. It's in two weeks! I'm pretty sure it will be the Sleeve. I'm hearing lots of bad stuff about the lab-band.

Congratulations on making the decision to get healthy. I know it's not easy. It wasn't for my husband and I either.

We chose the sleeve in the Fall of 2014 and are very happy with the decision. The band can become problematic. Lots of people post about getting it removed and getting a sleeve instead.

Congratulations! My best advice would be to research, research, research. Read every single thing you can get your hands on.

I have been reading on the internet and watching youtube videos. My husband even watched a video of the surgery, I couldn't.
